This guy does a huge burnout on his sweet Hayabusa. He really gets the tires smoking before he drops it. It doesn’t look like him or the bike took too much damage. I would call him lucky, but lucky people don’t drop $12,000 Motorcycles.
Hilights from the Tradex in Abbotsford include some nice wheelies, stoppies, and burnouts. One of the guys there managed to do wheelies on an ATV in reverse with someone sitting on the front. It was a great show aside from the lame crowd.
Stopies are pretty straightforward, you drive on your front wheel for as long as possible. You can pull off a stoppie in three easy steps:
Ride forward fast.
Slam on your front brake.
Ease up on the brake and keep your balance as you roll forward.
Step three is the most important as the first two steps are the same for a stoppie as they are for flying over the handlebars and eating pavement. The faster you go, the longer your stoppie will be. You also have a better chance of wiping out based on your speed. A perfectly executed stoppie looks awesome and will impress, but a front-flip over the handlebars will not impress anybody and instead of riding home with a hottie on the back of your bike, you will be riding in the back of an ambulance so be careful. For a pretty scientific rundown of stoppies check out wikipedia’s stoppie page.
